Our teachers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and they have many different passions. Two comments that we often hear about our teachers is that they are approachable and that they love their students.

Brenda Nelson

Brenda completed her education degree in South Africa in 1985. She taught for many years both in the Primary and Early Childhood sectors. Brenda relocated to London where she taught for 10 years before joining Australian Christian College in 2010. She loves teaching and enjoys the enthusiasm for learning shown by young children. Brenda enjoys guiding parents in the fantastic opportunity they have of being able to educate their children at home.

Louise Rolley

Louise used to live in Duncraig before moving down to Albany. She is a graduate of Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor of Education. Louise is very passionate about working with children as they learn. She loves bringing literature and drama into the classroom to show how to make abstract concepts fun and engaging.

Bronwyn Jansz

Bronwyn completed her Bachelor of Education (Kindergarten-Primary) halfway through 2011. She has had a range of working experiences, but to satisfy a love of reading she largely worked at the City of Joondalup Public Libraries before coming to Australian Christian College in fourth term 2011. Bronwyn also loves arts, crafts and music. She has a passion for engaging her students with hands-on learning experiences and shares her love of music with her students.

Michael Poole

Michael was born and grew up in Albany. As a high school graduate he moved to Perth to further his studies. After completing his Bachelor of Education Michael spent over 12 years teaching at a Christian school in the eastern suburbs of Perth. During the last 6 years he worked as the Co-curricular Coordinator and Head of Health and Physical Education. Michael is a keen musician who sings and plays guitar, he also enjoys woodworking, especially making guitars.

Naomi MacGregor

Naomi completed her Bachelor of Education in South Africa in 1992. She started teaching in 1993 in multi-cultural government schools. For the past 15 years she was teaching at her former high school where she took over the role as Head of Mathematics. In 2011 she completed her Honours in Bachelor of Education specialising in Educational Management. Naomi loves to travel and has been to America and Europe. In 2012 her family relocated to Australia.

Wing Kuen Wee

Born and raised in Singapore, Wing Kuen completed his Bachelor of Sports Science (Honours) at Edith Cowan University in 2009. This was followed by a postgraduate diploma in Teaching, specialising in Physical Education and Mathematics. Besides that he had a stint working with autistic toddlers as an Intervention Assistant. Wing Kuen has a desire to nurture children in achieving their full potential. Having represented Singapore in the sport of kayaking, he has a passion for all water sports.

Jade Baker

Jade completed a Bachelor of Arts degree through the University of Western Australia in 2005. She majored in both English and History. While caring for three young children, Jade completed a Graduate Diploma of Education in 2010 through Curtin University. As a university student studying through distance education, she gained an insight into the opportunities and challenges posed by this medium. Jade is an enthusiastic explorer of the possibilities of education in the digital age.

Merril Graham

Merril completed a Diploma in Teacher Training at Graylands Teachers’ College and in later years she achieved a Graduate Diploma in Christian Education. Merril taught in Perth before leaving to raise her four children, after which time she resumed teaching on a part-time basis. She taught at a Christian school in Albany for 16 years. Merril joined this school in 2009 in her current role as a Special Needs teacher. She is involved in both children and women’s ministry groups and enjoys family time.

Terry Phipson

In 1997 Terry completed an Early Childhood Certificate through University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She taught at Elim Pre-Primary until she immigrated to Australia in 1999. Terry started work with Southlands Christian College in 2000 and remained with the school through many changes. Terry completed a Bachelor of Education in 2009 through Curtin University. She has a passion for teaching from a Biblical Worldview and engaging students with the new digital technologies in her classroom.
